There are so many myths about skin care that could actually be harming your skin.
We all want our skin to look clear, smooth and beautiful, but if you believe the common myths about skin care, you could end up with less than desirable results. Here at Skinworx, we are dedicated to helping you achieve the kind of skin you’ve always wanted, and that’s why we offer the very best facials in San Francisco, including Hydrafacials®. In addition to visiting Skinworx, it’s also important that you understand the truth about common skin care myths. Here are a few of those myths:
Myth #1. Your acne can be scrubbed away.
Acne is more often a hormonal problem than a hygiene problem, and no amount of scrubbing will get rid of it. Unfortunately, the more you scrub, the worse you are likely to make the problem because soaps and facials creams tend to dry out the skin, and it will up the oil production to compensate.
Myth #2. You don’t need more sunscreen than what is in your foundation.
Don’t be fooled by the label. Foundations that have sunscreen are great, but the typical woman has to apply 10 times more foundation than she normally would to reap the benefits. Invest in a broad spectrum sunscreen to wear under your foundation, and be sure to apply it throughout the day.
Myth #3. If a product doesn’t work right away, purchase a new one.
The reality is that if you are only giving products a day or even a week to work, you aren’t giving them enough time. It can take up to 10 weeks for a new skin regimen to start working for you, so stick with it.
